Convened by Dr Munya Saruchera, Director of the Africa Centre, the webinar will examine how colonial legacies, and neoliberal reforms continue to shape African health systems, often reducing healthcare to technical efficiency and biomedical control.

“The event aims to highlight indigenous philosophies of care, people-centered leadership, and critical management thought as alternatives for building more just and inclusive health systems,” he told this author in a WhatsApp message.

“African health systems are too often reduced to technical efficiency and biomedical control, with little space for indigenous approaches to wellbeing,” added Dr. Saruchera.

“This webinar provides an opportunity to rethink health leadership through African perspectives, he further stressed.”

This session forms part of the Africa Centre’s ongoing webinar series, with future topics to be announced via the Centre’s social media platforms.
