Kampala, Uganda: The Founder of this news website has been recognized on a prestigious list of researchers and academicians contributing to impactful research around the world.
In an announcement released on Tuesday, the UK-based prestigious research institution, Vitae, also a global leader in supporting the professional development of researchers, Mr. Arinaitwe Rugyendo and several other researchers and academicians from around the world, were recognized for their contribution to advancing impact research.

Mr. Rugyendo, who founded ResearchFinds News, a website dedicated to communicating complex scientific research through a “newsification” model in 2020, was nominated for the Vitae Impact, Culture, and Engagement (ICE) Awards together with five others in the ‘Innovative and Inclusive practice award’ category.
Rugyendo’s nomination came from Dennis Aguma, Dr. Apophia Agiresaasi, and Rebecca P. Tumwebaze. He is recognized alongside six other distinguished nominees, including Alice (Nok) Hang Hui, a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham, and Jack Fitzpatrick, a PhD Candidate at Liverpool John Moores University, among others.
Alice Hui was nominated by Stephanie Smith for her work on increasing the recruitment of Postgraduate Researchers from underrepresented backgrounds at the University of Birmingham’s CENTA Doctoral Training Programme.
Jack Fitzpatrick was nominated for his research on neurodiversity-informed practices in the workplace, put forward by Craig Hammond.
Another notable nominee is Dr. Jenni Jones, Associate Professor in Coaching and Mentoring at the University of Wolverhampton, recognized for her reverse mentoring program aimed at enabling Global Majority Postgraduate Researchers to influence senior leaders and decision-making processes.
The ICE Awards, now in their second year, celebrate the innovative work and significant contributions of the researcher development community.
Rugyendo was nominated for the Innovative and Inclusive Practice Award, highlighting his efforts to bridge the gap between academia and the public in Uganda.
The ResearchFinds News has been serving as a crucial platform for researchers around the world to connect with policymakers and industry professionals through the newsification of complex scientific findings into easy-to-read stories.

The final awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday, September 23, as part of the Vitae International Researcher Development Conference Gala dinner at The Rep, Birmingham, UK.
In the previous year, the ICE Awards received 55 nominations from across 33 institutions, showcasing the breadth and diversity of impactful research initiatives.
Mr. Rugyendois currently pursuing a PhD in Journalism and Communication at Makerere University. His work with ResearchFinds News exemplifies his commitment to making scientific research accessible and relevant to a broader audience, fostering an informed and engaged society in Uganda.
