The “AD Scientific Index” is an exceptional ranking and analytical system created by Prof. Dr. Murat ALPER (MD) and Associate Prof. Dr. Cihan DÖĞER (MD) in 2021. It stands out for evaluating individual scientists’ scientific performance and the value they bring to the realm of research. In a departure from other systems that primarily assess journals and universities, this index shines a much-needed light on scientific excellence and empowers researchers to understand their influence, contributions, and progress.
This groundbreaking system utilizes nine parameters, drawing upon well-established metrics such as the H-index, the I10 index, and citations in Google Scholar. The H-index, a widely accepted measure of a researcher’s influence, is a core component. It is determined by the number of citations a scientist’s work receives, providing researchers with insights into their academic standing and growth over time.
Maintaining accurate profile information is a key focus of the “AD Scientific Index.” While it aims to provide comprehensive and up-to-date data, it recognizes potential discrepancies due to factors like missing Google Scholar profiles. The index encourages institutions and countries to review their affiliated researchers’ profiles regularly, ensuring precision in the data.
An important aspect of the index is its ability to rank institutions, including universities, and countries based on the number of influential and productive scientists in their employ. This approach provides valuable insights into how institutions attract and retain high-impact researchers, reflecting the effectiveness of their science policies.

The “Productivity Rankings” tool within the index identifies the most prolific scientists in specific fields. Beyond recognition, it serves as a guide for shaping meaningful incentives and academic policies, promoting academic collaboration among researchers globally.
Despite its impressive features, the “AD Scientific Index” has its limitations, including occasional issues such as unverified Google Scholar profiles and data-related challenges. However, the development team remains committed to regular updates to enhance accuracy and reliability.
By honoring Uganda’s top scientists and researchers, the “AD Scientific Index 2024” showcases the nation’s growing presence and impact on the global stage. This recognition serves as a powerful motivator for Ugandan researchers and institutions to continue advancing the frontiers of knowledge.
To be featured in the “AD Scientific Index,” academics must maintain a public Google Scholar profile, ensuring accuracy and ethical integrity. Institutions are encouraged to verify their employees’ profiles, and the creators maintain a strict policy against inappropriate or unethical profiles, even if fees have been paid for inclusion.
The “AD Scientific Index” operates with a small transaction fee, supporting its independence and sustainability. This fee is essential for maintaining and enhancing the system, accommodating a growing number of universities and scientists. Various paid services, including profile additions and changes, are available to users, with fees varying by country.
Beyond indexing and ranking, the “AD Scientific Index” elevates academic life by offering tools to detect inaccurate, unethical profiles, plagiarism, and various forms of academic misconduct. It is a comprehensive platform that contributes to the vitality and integrity of academic research.
